AEE-CWEEL Plenary Keynote and introduction of Assistant Secretary Kelly Speakes-Backman, DOE
Dr. Nandini Mouli was requested to provide an introduction to Madam Secretary, Kelly Speakes-Backman of Department of Energy prior to her plenary speech at the CWEEL’s breakfast event. Ms. Mouli had worked under Ms. Speakes-backman and was honored to perform this duty. Ms. Speakes-Backman spoke about her career in clean energy starting as an engineer in a private industry and moving up in the public sector in Maryland Energy Administration, Maryland Public Service Commissioning, The Energy Storage Association and now at the Department of Energy. She also shared words of wisdom for women energy engineers to heed to in their career which were very well received by over 600 attendees who tuned to this program virtually.
